 Discipleship

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Right before Jesus ascended into heaven, He commanded us to make disciples. The Great Commission in Matthew 28 is a very well known part of scripture, and at the Atlanta Dreamcenter Church, we want to take those words to heart, as we believe in the power of being discipled and discipling others.

Discipleship centers on teaching biblical truth and spiritual disciplines. It’s about teaching biblical precepts, while modeling and guiding others toward living righteously as followers of Jesus Christ.

If we, as believers, solely aim to get people to say the sinner’s prayer and have them come to church, we are missing the point. The gospel of Jesus Christ goes way beyond getting people in the door of heaven. It’s about making them a part of the body of believers, and teaching them the ways of heaven.

We are called to make disciples.
